Dillons Rolling Western The Last Ranger continues the story of the silent armadillo ranger, this time protecting the towns along a frontier railway. A new train route promises hope for the settlements, but the Grocks are bolder than ever and strike both villages and the train itself. Dillon is joined by other rangers this time, each with their own style, and the bigger cast gives the western tale more heart and humor.

The core rhythm of gather, build and defend returns with welcome changes. During the day you roll out to mine resources and scout the land, then place towers and walls before the evening attack. Fellow rangers can be hired and posted to trouble spots, which spreads the pressure in the largest battles. Train defense stages change the formula nicely, since the thing you protect will not sit still. It is a fuller and friendlier sequel that respects the charm of the first game. Train stages add welcome variety to the defense formula.
