About Citizens of Earth for Nintendo 3DS
Citizens of Earth is a comedy role playing game where you play the Vice President of the World, a smiling politician who wakes up after an election win to find his hometown overrun by strange enemies and protests. Rather than fight himself, he does what any good leader would do and recruits ordinary citizens to battle for him. Baristas, teachers, bakers and dozens of other everyday people can join your party, each bringing useful and funny talents. The writing is proudly silly, packed with jokes about politics, work and small town life.
Combat looks like a classic turn based RPG, but your party of regular folks keeps it fresh. Every citizen has a job based set of skills, from a baker healing the team with fresh snacks to a barista boosting energy with coffee. Recruits often ask for a small quest before joining, which turns building your party into a tour of the whole game world. Enemies are just as odd, including mutant deer and living coffee cups.

This quirky RPG is well worth hunting down in physical form. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. Retailers still list the cartridge, and it tends to be affordable for collectors. Anyone who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their own 3DS, so earlier supporters can revisit their citizen army whenever they like.
Politics has never been this funny, or this heroic.
