About Bravely Default: For the Sequel for Nintendo 3DS
For the Sequel is the enhanced edition of Bravely Default, created as both a refinement of the first game and a testing ground for its follow up. The story of Agnes, Tiz, Edea and Ringabel restoring the crystals of Luxendarc returns with many small improvements across the whole journey. New difficulty options, a cleaner interface and quality touches make the adventure smoother from start to finish. Western players know this version well, since it became the base for the worldwide release of the game.
The celebrated battle system feels better than ever here. Brave lets you spend stored or borrowed turns on multi action bursts, while Default guards and saves points for the perfect moment. Event viewers, an auto battle option and adjustable encounter rates respect the player time. The job system still offers more than twenty roles to mix into creative builds, now with better balance. Extra story scenes and small surprises reward returning players who thought they knew every corner of Luxendarc already.

This enhanced edition lives on the physical market now. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. The honest way to play today is a physical cartridge from a retailer, and western copies of Bravely Default are based on this very edition. Players who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their system. Japanese copies need Japanese hardware, as with all imports.
It is the definitive early form of a modern classic.
